County employees do a terrific job of decorating the courthouse row offices for the holiday season. The courthouse is open to visitors Saturday during scheduled times and is a stop that the entire family will enjoy.

The Cambria County Courthouse was originally constructed in 1880, a decade after Dickens’ death. Major additions were made to the building in the early 20th century. it stands today in its original splendor as an example of Victorian Second Empire architecture.


Ugly Sweater 5k Family Fun Run & Walk
Sunday, 2:00 pm.; L.R. Kimball, 615 W. Highland Avenue

Come join L.R. Kimball for a Family Fun Run and Walk to benefit Toys For Tots!

This fun holiday event will take runners and walkers through scenic Ebensburg during one of the most magical events of the year, Dickens of a Christmas.

Wear your most festive Ugly Holiday sweater and join in on the fun! Post-race refreshments will include hot cocoa and cookies- and we may even get a special visit from Santa Claus! Get in the holiday spirit and have some fun with family and friends.

Prizes will be given to the top finishers overall and top in each age group.
Cost: $15 + Toy donation for Toys for Tots

Cresson Lake Playhouse Holiday Production of “A Cresson Lake Playhouse Christmas Cabaret”
Sunday, 2:00 p.m.; Cambria County Courthouse

As part of Ebensburg’s “Dickens of a Christmas” celebration, Cresson Lake will be “singing in the holidays” with a program of Christmas music performed by some of the best vocalists in the region. We’re also including a sing-along of carols with the entire audience.

Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the beautifully restored Courtroom #1 at the Cambria County Courthouse, 200 S. Center Street in Ebensburg. Tickets are only $10 and will be available at the door and by calling 814-472-4333.


Dickens Dessert Theater – “Ebenezer Scrooge, A New Man”

Come see Ebenezer Scrooge on the “Mandy In the Morning Show.”  Mandy has invited Ebenezer Scrooge to her busy morning show.  Find out how someone can change from a “Bah Humbug” to a man that everyone loves.  The show and Mandy will never be the same as Scrooge reminisces with the ghosts that visited him on Christmas Eve so many years ago.

Two performances – 2:00 pm & 6:30 pm

Nutcracker All Jazz’d Up
Sunday, 2:00 p.m., Penn Cambria High School

Charlene’s School of Dance will present the ‘Nutcracker Ballet All Jazz’d Up’ on December 6th at 7:00 & December 8th at 2:00 at the PCHS Auditorium. This holiday tradition sweeps us whirling into the world of Clara, the Mouse King, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Join us for a magical twist on this classic tale, ‘The Nutcracker’.
