Young Peoples Community Center Mission Statement
The Young Peoples Community Center is a non-profit, intergovernmental organization committed to providing a safe-haven of activity for today’s youth while encouraging teens to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The mission of the Young Peoples Community Center is to establish and maintain an educational and recreational facility for the youth of Ebensburg Borough and its surrounding communities to participate in social, artistic and athletic activities in a safe controlled environment. We are dedicated to promoting activities that will preserve, develop and enhance high social and moral values.
The Young Peoples Community Center first opened it’s doors in 2001 as a place to provide a safe space for recreation activities for youth in the area. While still holding true to that mission, over the years, the facility has morphed in to so much more! Currently, the YPCC is home to Fall and Winter Basketball leagues, a state of the are fitness facility and various youth athletic programs that allow kids to explore new sports. It is also a great space to hold many family events, such as Birthday Parties and family reunions.
Along with our Fitness Membership and Party rentals we also have other amazing things to offer.
During the nice summer months we have bike rentals for adults and children. We have 4 kid bikes and 10 adult bikes for rent. They are mountain bikes, mainly to use on the Ghost Town Trail. You can rent by the hour or for the day. Under the age of 12 are required to have a helmet, which we have. Adults are $8/hour and kids are $6/hour.
At Lake Rowena we have 2 paddle boats that are for rent as well during the summer months. You have to come to the YPCC to fill out the waiver and get the keys to unlock first. They are $8 an hour to rent. Life jackets are provided for under the age of 12 as well.
