The Ebensburg Borough Water Department will be conducting its bi-annual fire hydrant flushing program beginning September 16th and continuing for approximately 8 weeks.
Residents can expect to see water running down roadways and crews actively flushing hydrants in Ebensburg.
Flushing loosens and removes mineral deposits that can accumulate within pipelines. This maintenance improves water quality and supports long-term system reliability.
During this process, residents may experience temporary service interruptions, including but not limited to, lower water pressure, short-term water discoloration, or impacts to pressure-sensitive equipment. If you notice discolored water, run a cold tap, preferably in a basement or bathtub, for a few minutes until the water clears.
While we understand that flushing may inconvenience residents, please know that our crews are working diligently to complete this system maintenance.
Thank you!
