CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP

Christmas trees are picked up by borough crews in the weeks following the holiday season. Residents need only discard their tree at the nearest street corner. The trees are hauled to the borough’s recycling center, where they are chipped into mulch and later used on area walking trails.

LEAF SWEEPING

Borough crews begin collecting leaves throughout the borough in mid-October. Residents are asked to rake all leaves into rows along the curb. A vacuum truck is used to pickup leaves from yards and sidewalks. The leaves are hauled to the borough recycling center where they are composted for later use.

SNOW COVERED SIDEWALKS

  4. No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any snow or ice on or immediately next to a fire hydrant or on any sidewalk, roadway or loading and unloading areas of a public transportation system, except that snow and ice may be mounded by the Borough on public cartways incident to the cleaning thereof or mounded on curbs incident to the clearing of sidewalks in business districts.
